Why Bad Photos Matter More Than You Think

Top DPR Masthead Image

January 25, 2026,

This week, the team got together to discuss two of the most interesting new cameras to be released early this year - the Leica-challenging Ricoh GR IV Monochrome, and the surprisingly oddball Instax Mini Evo Cinema.

Abbey also shared an interesting perspective on photography after reflecting on her own photos taken last year, ultimately concluding that bad photos might matter more than you think.

As always, thanks for reading and supporting our work.

January 18, 2025

2026 has barely begun, and the team has already covered several new camera announcements - including this week's new Leica-challenging and admittedly niche Ricoh GR IV Mono.

We also finished evaluating our video footage from the Sony a7 V and published a new guide on important settings to change on any new camera.

As always, we hope you enjoy this week's recap, and thank you for being part of the DPReview community.
