Plus, a simple travel camera, weather photography and Sony's incredible new rig.

This week, we looked at photography from both ends of the complexity spectrum. Sony pushed the boundaries of what's possible in professional filmmaking with a new large-format Venice 2 configuration designed to put a full-frame cinema sensor in places it couldn't go before. At the same time, we spent time with the Camp Snap 2, a deliberately simple camera built around the idea that not every photograph needs a screen, settings menu or instant feedback. |
Elsewhere, we examined the uncertain future of GoPro after the company raised substantial doubt about its ability to continue operating as a going concern, and we stepped inside the meticulously crafted world of one photographer whose still-life images transform everyday objects.
Taken together, the week served as a reminder that the photography industry is rarely moving in a single direction—often advancing, simplifying, and reinventing itself all at once.
As always, thanks for being a reader and supporting our work.
