Welcome to the 664th Digital Photography Review newsletter! The big news this week is the launch of Canon's long-awaited and much-rumored successor to its popular entry-level full-frame offering, the EOS 6D. The predictably-named EOS 6D Mark II is a very nice camera indeed, and I was lucky enough to be able to spend a few days with it earlier this month. As well as the 6D Mark II, Canon also launched a new entry-level APS-C model, the EOS Rebel SL2. You can read about both cameras from the links below. Meanwhile, we've been getting out and about with Nikon's latest wideangle prime, the 28mm F1.4, and Lars had fun (kind of) with a new camera grip for the iPhone. The same but different: Canon EOS 6D Mark II shooting experienceThe Canon EOS 6D Mark II brings more resolution, better autofocus and faster continuous shooting to Canon's entry-level full-frame camera. And earlier this month I had the opportunity to shoot with one. The new Rebel SL2 (EOS 200D) is the belated successor to 2013's Rebel SL1, billed at the time as the smallest and lightest DSLR on the market. Read more about the new Canon EOS Rebel SL2 Finishing the line: Nikon 28mm F1.4E ED sample gallery Nikon's 28mm F1.4E ED appears to roundly complete the company's updated lineup of fast, professional prime lenses. We've already seen some initial images from a Nikon ambassador, but we've worked through a gallery of our own, with a lens of our own over the past week. Take a look. Welcome to the 663rd Digital Photography Review newsletter! This week, we got our hands on with Fujinon's new cine lens, the MK50-135mm T2.9, and I cast my mind back to 2006, to the launch of Leica's first digital rangefinder, the M8. Meanwhile, we took the Fujifilm X-A3 out for a spin, and Erez Marom wrapped up his series of articles on aerial photography. Hot mess: Remembering the Leica M8 Leica's first attempt at an M-series digital rangefinder was a bit rough around the edges, but set a pattern for all of the cameras that came after it. In this week's Throwback Thursday article, I reminisce about the M8.
