Welcome to the 783rd DPReview Newsletter This week we wrapped up a couple of reviews, focusing on recent enthusiast options from Canon and Sony. You can read our reviews of the Canon EOS M200 and Sony Alpha a6100 via the links below. We also published two videos, following photographers Jean Fruth and Lauren Kelly as they shot on assignment with the Sony a9 and Canon EOS RP, respectively. Meanwhile, I got my hands on Nikon's new Noct 58mm F0.95 and wrote a eulogy for a word that used to mean something. Thanks for reading! Barney Sony a6100 review: Should this be your next family camera? Sony's a6100 adds powerful autofocus and a touchscreen to its low-cost mirrorless camera. But little inconsistencies mean it's not quite the excellent beginners camera it could be. Read our review of the Sony a6100 Canon EOS M200 review: Your new pocket-friendly companion The EOS M200 is Canon's new entry-level mirrorless camera. Welcome to the 782nd DPReview Newsletter Although 2019 is winding down, we're not quite done with new products. This week saw the announcements of the Olympus OM-D E-M5 III and Fujifilm X-Pro 3, as well as new lenses from Tamron and Tokina. Meanwhile we're still working through the photo features included in the new Google Pixel 4, and we've been out and about with Canon's delightful new standard zoom for the RF mount, the RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM. You'll find links to that gallery, and much of the content I just mentioned, below. Our Fujifilm X-Pro3 initial review: What's new, how it compares The Fujifilm X-Pro3's new viewfinder, new screen and titanium construction all make for an appealing camera - for the right type of photographer, that is. Find out if the Fujifilm X-Pro3 is right for you in our initial review. Read our overview of the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 Olympus OM-D E-M5 III initial review The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III is a 20MP Micro Four Thirds camera aimed at enthusiast photographers. It shares the same sensor, AF system and 4K-video capture as the flagship E-M1 II and E-M1 X, in a considerably smaller and lighter package. Curious about the OM-D E-M5 III? Read our initial review Tamron introduces trio of compact macro lenses for Sony E-mount Tamron has announced three compact F2.8 macro lenses for full-frame Sony mirrorless cameras. Buyers can choose between 20, 24 and 35mm flavors, all of which are the same size, have a 0.5x magnification and use 67mm filters. Read more about Tamron's latest lenses Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM sample gallery It's smaller and less costly than the flagship RF 28-70mm F2, but the RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM will appeal to many EOS R-series photographers with its handy range, fast, constant aperture, image stabilization and weather-sealing. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
