Welcome to the 769th DPReview newsletter - late / early addition! The DPR newsletter is coming early this week, because, - well, we didn't have a spare minute last week! Hot on the heels of the announcement of the A7R IV, Sony released another camera - the Cyber-shot RX100 VII. We've been shooting with one for a few days, and last week we published our initial review content, including a full gallery of sample images. Meanwhile, Carey just got back from Japan, where he was busy shooting with Sigma's newest lenses, and he even had time to write up his experience of traveling (to Mexico, this time) with the Canon EOS M100. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VII Review in Progress The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VII is a high-speed, large sensor superzoom compact. It uses the same 24-200mm equiv lens as its predecessor but claims to incorporate the capabilities of the pro sports-oriented a9 in a pocketable format. Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG DN Art sample gallery DPReview's Carey Rose got in some quality time with Sigma's brand-new 35mm F1.2 DG DN Art while traveling through Japan. Have a look at the gallery for a range of wide-open shots, as well as comparative aperture progressions. Check out our images from the Sigma 35mm F1.2 Art DPReview TV: Sony a7R IV preview Sony just announced the a7R IV, its new high resolution flagship camera. DPReview TV was on hand for the launch and Jordan is here with a preview. Chris picked this week to go fishing, but we know a great website where he can learn more about the camera when he gets home. Watch Jordan's take on the new Sony a7R IV Traveling light: Shooting with the Canon EOS M100 in Mexico Reviews Editor Carey Rose went to Mexico on a vacation and brought a tiny camera that takes about the same photos as the comparatively huge Canon EOS 80D. Not bad.

Welcome to the 768th DPReview Newsletter We used to joke that summer was the slow time of year in the digital camera world, but that's evidently not the case in 2019. In the last week we saw the introduction of Sigma's ultra-compact L-mount camera, as well as Sony's 61 Megapixel a7R IV. Based on the number of comments in our articles about these products, we think it's safe to say that there's plenty of interest in both cameras. Along with its new 'fp' camera, Sigma also announced a trio of lenses for Sony E-mount and Panasonic/Leica/Sigma L-mount, all of which we took for a spin in Japan. Intrigued? Read on! Sony introduces a7R IV Over the last few months, many people have been expecting Sony to release the long-awaited third revision of the a7S, or perhaps another RX100. What actually got released was the a7R IV, Sony's ultra-high-res full-frame model (not that we're complaining). We had plenty of hands-on time and have sample photos, demos, videos and more. View all of our Sony a7R IV coverage Sigma breaks the mold with the 'fp' Given that Sigma is a partner in the L-mount consortium, we knew that a camera was on the horizon, and that it was likely to use a full-frame Foveon processor. While that's still coming, Sigma instead introduced something totally different: the ultra-compact 'fp', which uses a sensor with the traditional Bayer filter. Learn more about the Sigma fp (and new lenses, too!) Nikon Z 24-70mm F2.8 S gallery updated The Nikon Z 24-70mm F2.8 is versatile and impressively sharp, and has become a favorite around the office when we're shooting with the Z6 or Z7. We've updated its gallery with even more photos, so you can evaluate its quality with your own eyes. DPReview TV: Fujifilm GFX 100 review If you like expensive camera gear, then you'll no doubt enjoy watching DPReview TV's Chris Niccolls and Jordan Drake show you what they liked - and didn't like - about Fujifilm's 100 Megapixel medium format GFX 100.
