Welcome back to another weekly installment of the DPReview Newsletter. While this week might’ve been a bit quieter than last, there was still plenty of news throughout the photo world. Nikon announced a new Z-mount lens, Panasonic brought SSD recording to its GH6 over USB-C, Nikon teased four new lenses, we reviewed the Tamron 50–400mm F4.5–6.3 and we also wrapped up the EOS R10 Studio Scene. Below is a summary of all of these stories and more! Gannon Nikon goes wide with its new 17–28mm F2.8 lens Nikon has announced a new Nikkor Z 17–28mm F2.8 lens for its Z-mount camera systems. While Nikon hasn’t confirmed it, this lens appears remarkably similar to the 17–28mm F2.8 lens Tamron released for Sony E-mount cameras, suggesting this is a third-party design co-opted and adapted for use with Nikon’s Z Series cameras. We also went hands-on to see what the lens has to offer. Panasonic firmware update brings SSD recording to its GH6 As promised at launch, Panasonic has released a firmware update for its GH6 Micro Four Thirds hybrid camera that allows users to record directly to SSDs (up to 2TB) via the USB-C port. Nikon teases four new lenses on latest roadmap Nikon has published an updated lens roadmap, showcasing four new lenses we haven’t yet heard about: a 35mm prime, a 135mm prime, a 12–28mm power zoom and a 70–180mm lens that appears as though it’ll be a constant F2.8 aperture. DPReview TV: Reviewing the Tamron 50–400mm F4.5–6.3 Di III VC VXD DPReview TV’s Chris Niccolls has gone hands-on with Tamron’s super-telephoto zoom to see what kind of performance the versatile lens has to offer Sony E-mount shooters.
EOS R10 Studio Scene is now live We’ve wrapped up the Studio Scene for Canon’s entry-level EOS R10 camera. Check out the images and our analysis for all the details. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
