Welcome to the 803rd DPReview Newsletter From 'social distancing' to 'full lockdown' in just a week. Strange times indeed. As the cherry blossoms bloom outside my window, I'm looking forward to the day when I can walk around the block without feeling guilty, but at least there's plenty to keep us all occupied while we're stuck indoors. No surprise that there was plenty of COVID-19 news this week (get used to it) from the announcement of service centers closing to the postponement of Photokina. But it's not all doom and gloom. Alongside plenty of other content, Roger Cicala published an interesting article on how to sanitize camera equipment in the middle of a pandemic, and we also rounded up some ideas for how to be productive while self-isolating. Thanks for reading! Fujifilm X-T4 vs X-T3: Which should I buy – and is it worth upgrading? The recently-announced X-T4 shares a lot with its nominal predecessor, the X-T3. So which is best for you? And if you already own the X-T3, should you upgrade? Read how the X-T4 stacks up against the X-T3 Interview: how a box of negatives offered a very personal glimpse into the past When Joan Ruppert started looking through a box of film negatives shot by her father in the 1930s, she didn't know what to expect. As she told DPReview, what she found was a treasure trove. Read our interview with Joan Ruppert Get something out of staying in: Ideas for isolation The world has suddenly become a little smaller for many of us, but there are still plenty of photographic things you can do, while waiting for things to get a little better. Here are some suggestions. Read our article on ideas for self-isolation Olympus 12-40mm F2.8 Pro sample gallery The Olympus 12-40mm F2.8 has joined us on a lot of journeys over the years, mounted to many different OM-D camera bodies. The EOS-1D X Mark III shoots Canon's best-ever JPEGs There's a lot that's new in Canon's flagship EOS-1D X Mark III, including a sensor that offers best-in-class dynamic range. It also happens to produce the best JPEGs we've seen from a Canon camera. Check out how the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III performs in our studio

Welcome to the 802nd DPReview Newsletter - special 'Social Distancing' edition! So - things got weird, didn't they? Here in Washington State we're right in the middle of the US outbreak of COVID-19, but with countries shutting their borders all over the world, I'm sure that everybody reading this has had their lives altered to some extent. Unfortunately, it looks like we may be in this one for the long haul. But we're in it together. We're going to continue with business as usual as best we can, and our thoughts are with friends in those communities most affected. This is the first newsletter I'm writing from virtual quarantine, but it won't be the last. As always - and especially right now - thanks for reading! Editorial: 'The world is ending, why are you still writing about cameras?' What we do doesn't matter at all, in the big scheme of things. Which is exactly why we're going to keep on doing it. Olympus TG-6 review: the best waterproof camera on the market With a fast lens, GPS and useful tracking features, and Raw support, Olympus's flagship rugged compact continues to be the best waterproof camera on the market. Read our review of the Olympus Tough TG-6 Five reasons why Fujifilm probably won't make a full-frame X100 Some photographers have been asking for years for a full-frame version of Fujifilm's popular X100 line. We get it – we want one too. But here's why we think it's unlikely to happen. GoPro Hero8 Black review: Have action cameras finally hit a wall? While improvements like HyperSmooth 2.0 stabilization are truly impressive, the latest GoPro generation really only offers incremental upgrades – and that's looking like a trend we can count on in the foreseeable future.
