Welcome to the 559th Digital Photography Review newsletter.

I'm back after a few days off and already, it's proving a busy week. Just yesterday we took delivery of a pre-production Canon EOS 5DS R, and we're expecting reviewable samples of Canon's two new Rebel-series DSLRs very soon, too. You can see studio samples from the 5DS R below - impressive stuff indeed.

Nikon D7200 First Impressions updated

Our Nikon D7200 First Impressions Review gets a significant update today with dynamic range test results, studio scene analysis and a detailed breakdown of the camera's controls and menus. The D7200 is Nikon's flagship crop-sensor DSLR, with a 24MP sensor, updated 51-point AF system and much-improved continuous shooting buffer depth. We're hard at work on the full review - take a look at how the D7200 has performed so far in our testing.

Canon EOS 5DS R added to studio test scene comparison

Ever since Canon announced its 50MP EOS 5DS R, we've been eager to get it into our studio and in front of our test scene. The wait is over and the 5DS R has been added to our studio scene comparison tool alongside the likes of the Nikon D810 and Pentax 645Z.

And Now For Something Different: Voigtländer 40mm f/2.8 Heliar samples and impressions

Voigtländer is one of the oldest names in photography, with a long history of making cameras and lenses. We recently got our hands on the 40mm VM f/2.8 Heliar, made specifically for full-frame and APS-C Sony E-mount cameras.

Big Zoom: Nikon Coolpix P900 real-world samples

Nikon's Coolpix P900 offers a 16MP sensor and a mind-blowing F2.8-6.5 24-2000mm equivalent zoom. It features built-in Wi-Fi with NFC, 7 fps burst shooting, built-in EVF and a fully articulated LCD. The P900 also uses a new Dual Detect optical image stabilization system, claiming up to 5 stops of shake compensation. We've been shooting with it for a few days.

Canon PowerShot SX60 HS real-world samples

Canon's flagship superzoom is its PowerShot SX60 HS, which sports a 21-1365mm equivalent lens - not quite Coolpix P900 territory but still very impressive. It also features a fully articulating LCD, Wi-Fi with NFC, and 1080/60p video. We've spent some time shooting with the SX60 and have put together a gallery of rusting trucks, sunsets, snowy owls and even snowier mountains.

Winds of Change: Shooting changing landscapes

There are more people taking pictures now than ever before, and as a consequence, some of the world's most beautiful views have been photographed to death. In this article, nature and landscape photographer Erez Marom explains the value of shooting 'changing' landscapes, which offer different perspectives every time you visit - or even from day to day, or minute to minute.

What else is coming up?

We're working on a group test of the current crop of superzoom compacts, so watch out for more samples galleries over the next few days and weeks. We'll also be publishing more samples on Canon's new EOS 5DS R and Rebel T6s/i as soon as possible, too. Watch this space!
