Welcome to the 611th Digital Photography Review newsletter. It's been a busy couple of weeks here at DPReview, during which we did all sorts of things including update several of our popular camera roundups. But the highlight (for me at least) was the publication of our long-awaited full review on the Nikon D810. It seems like there's hardly been a day since the camera was released that we haven't been working on the D810. As a benchmark DSLR, a lot of our reviews of other major products in the past year or so have been heavily informed by tests that we developed specifically for the D810, and it's a relief to finally get the review online. As well as the D810 review we also posted a video that we shot recently in the company of a renowned astrophotographer, using the D810 and D810A in the deserts of California. We think it turned out pretty well - you'll find links to both pieces of content below. Benchmark Performance: Nikon D810 review Our long-awaited review of the Nikon D810 is now published! The D810 is Nikon's flagship high-resolution DSLR and although it was released some time ago, it remains a benchmark camera in many important respects. We've been shooting with - and testing - the D810 for a long time.Click here to see read our review of the Nikon D810 Heavenly bodies: Nikon D810 & D810A field test José Francisco Salgado is an Emmy-nominated astronomer, photographer and educator. He joined us when took Nikon’s D810 and D810A down to southern California recently to capture the stunning desert vistas and night skies near Death Valley. The long-awaited successor to the D300s, the D500 is Nikon's most professional DX-format camera ever, and we've been using one for a little while.
